Dear fellow river floaters,

WE HAVE SOME VERY BAD NEWS ABOUT THE RIVER TRIP: IT'S CANCELLED!

WE TRIED OUR BEST BUT GOT BEAT DOWN ANYWAY. THE RIVER IS CLOSED TO ALL BOATERS, 
FLOATERS AND SWIMMERS. THE FLOODING CAUSED BY THE EXCESSIVE SNOW FALL AND THE 
NEED BY THE ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS TO RELEASE WATER FROM THE DAM ABOVE HAVE 
CAUSED VERY HIGH, FAST AND DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT WILL 
NOT ALLOW ANY WATER ACTIVITIES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE RIVER WILL BE OPENED BY OUR WEEKEND BUT THE CONDITIONS 
WILL STILL BE DANGEROUS.

ALSO THERE ARE A FEW OTHER PROBLEMS:

1) THE BRIDGE AT GOODFELLOW IS BEING REBUILT AND THE RIVER IS CLOSED AT THAT POINT 
ANYWAY. THAT CUTS OFF OUR ACCESS TO THE LAUNCH SITES, BOTH NEW AND OLD.

2) THE BOTTOM PART OF CAMP IS UNDER WATER.

3) OUR CHIEF COOK HAS A MAJOR CONFLICT AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO. NO COOK IS A 
VERY BAD IDEA!

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID, YOU WILL GET A FULL REFUND. WE WILL BEGIN MAILING 
CHECKS June 27, 2011.

THOSE OF US THAT HAVE BEEN PLANNING THIS TRIP FOR MONTHS ARE VERY SORRY. 
WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ALL MADE PLANS COMING FROM NEAR AND FAR.

WE WILL GET THERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

The full moon is the 4th of July, 2012. The Finns are going on the 6-8.
